Welcome

to the 100 Mile and District Garden Club web page. We hope to  keep the public informed on what is happening within our club, but first a  brief history on how the club got started.

People who were new to the area would visit the local library seeking  information on what, if anything, would grow in the area as they had been  told that the area was too cold to grow most things. The library, true  Cariboo patriarchs, started holding garden forums to help these interior  gardeners out. From these library garden forums our club was formed. Our  club has been up and running since 1992, with Doreen Cauldell as it's  first president. Here are some of the things we have done over the years:

Learning how to (hands on) force  bulbs.

 Seed collecting and exchanges.

 Spring perennial plant exchanges.

 Summer garden tours.

 Willow basket making.

 Houseplant exchange.

Guest speakers on a variety of  subjects.

Christmas socials.

Seed orders and how to's
